What really clicked with me when learning about copywriting was a certain mindset shift, which I'd like to add here:

Especially in the blogging world, it's easy to get stuck in the mindset of "me" and writing about what you care about, what you don't like and what you think. As it will surely click with some readers, it's unlikely it will garner a big audience. The mindset shift that opened my eyes in copywriting training was to view the content through the eyes of the customer, who is constantly asking "What's in it for me?"

By focusing first and foremost about the audience and the problem you are solving for them, the content will get so much more engaging, and in consequence, successful.

It doesn't really matter if we're talking about a blog post, a cold email or a search engine ad: Your mindset should always revolve around the customers and a compelling answer to their question "What's in it for me?"

Thanks for sharing, Nick. Great read!
